Westin Bonaventure Los Angeles Hotel

Have you ventured out to Cali yet? I hear that’s what the locals call California, but then again, my buddy who resides in Irvine, could just be lying to me. Personally I’ve only been out to the beach state one time. Now I’m not going to say it was an awful experience, but it wasn’t the time of my life either.

In retrospect, I should have flown out there for a simple site-seeing adventure. This would be a bit more fun and exciting than what I endured. One thing I will say about California is that the Westin Bonaventure Los Angeles hotel was pretty decent. I stayed there for a week and a half, and have no complaints.

So there I was, on a flight to Los Angeles, California. It was December, 1995, and the runways were icy. Our fight actually left a day late due to a nasty winter storm. Fortunately for us, we were headed to sunny California to stay in the Westin Bonaventure Los Angeles hotel. Read more »

Staying At a Napa Valley Bed and Breakfast

My husband and I are always looking for unique vacation opportunities. We’re not content to just lie on a beach for a week or to spend all our time in musty museums. Instead, we’d much rather be participating in exciting activities and creating memories that will last a lifetime.

That’s why we’ve we decided to head for California’s wine country on our last vacation and to lodge at a cozy Napa Valley bed and breakfast for our entire stay.

We were really looking forward to touring as many wineries as possible and participating in as many wine tasting events as we could attend. We even made a detailed itinerary before we left in order to ensure that we would make the best use of our vacation time.

But as it turned out, our Napa Valley bed and breakfast was so fantastic that we hardly ever left it!

That Napa Valley bed and breakfast wasn’t the first B&B that we stayed at, but it was certainly the most comprehensive. The property included its own private vineyard and small winery, which allowed us to indulge in a bit of the wine-tasting that we were looking forward to.

In addition, our Napa Valley bed and breakfast also had a full-service spa on the premises and was adjacent to a beautiful golf course. With all of those activities right there at our disposal, plus a lovely room to boot, it’s no wonder that we were content to stay right there at our Napa Valley bed and breakfast for most of our vacation.

When we got back home and told our friends about the trip, they immediately wanted to know how we found that wonderful Napa Valley bed and breakfast to begin with. We were more than happy to share that information with them.

All we did was check the Internet to see which Napa Valley bed and breakfast establishments had their own websites. We then visited those sites to view pictures of the rooms, read about the activities and amenities offered, and of course to compare rates.

Our final step was to read about what other travelers had to say about the Napa Valley bed and breakfast establishments that they stayed at. We knew full well that it was one thing to see pictures, but quite another to read impartial testimonials from past customers.

Once we had gathered all that information, it was relatively easy to select a Napa Valley bed and breakfast for our trip. Our research served us well and helped us make a great decision, so if you’re trying to choose a Napa Valley bed and breakfast for your journey to California’s wine country, we suggest following the same process.

Making The Right Choice When Looking At Mountain Cabins for Rent

Recently, we made some plans for our upcoming vacation. We were tired of the usual city trips that we take every year, so we looked at mountain cabins for rent. We finally settled on a cabin in the smoky mountains, and headed out their on the 4th of April. Boy, were we in for a treat.

The reason that, of the all the mountain cabins for rent we chose that one had a lot to do with the picture. There were bigger, more imposing mountain cabins for rent, more luxurious destinations, but something about this particular cabin really captured the imagination.

It looked like a hunting lodge settled under imposing, gigantic virgin pine forest. In the background there was just the tiniest sparkle from the pond behind it, glistening with light filtering through the tree.

When we got there, we were more than pleased with our choice of mountain cabins for rent. The “pond” was huge. It was really more of a lake. The only thing that made it at all pond like was the stillness of the water and the presence of lily pads and swamp grass on one side.

Although there were other mountain cabins for rent by the same company around the area, only one of them was in view, and that one was better than half a mile away, on the other side of the pond. It was possible to sit outside and feel like you were completely alone, far away from all of the toils of civilization.

The best thing about mountain cabins for rent is, if the companies renting them are modern enough to advertise them on the internet, the cabins themselves are likely to contain all of the modern amenities.

If you want, you can even find mountain cabins for rent with satellite tv int the middle of the Smokies! Personally, I think that this is pointless, and our cabin didn’t even have television, as it would have disturbed the wonderful solitude of our surroundings, but it did have good insulation and adequate heating and cooling, as well as wonderfully warm showers which increased the relaxation of our vacation.

All in all, mountain cabins for rent are a great idea to consider for your next trip. There is no place with fresher air, or quieter nights, no better place to get away from it all than a quiet mountain cabin. I can’t wait for next year.
