Discover the August Candlelight Christmas Walk in Augusta - Missouri
Over 1,000 luminaries illuminate your path through Historic Augusta, Missouri the first two Friday nights of December from five to 10 PM. The annual attraction has more than a 25 year history and has grown into a ritual for the entire community to host. A complimentary Trolley Shuttle will take you through town to tour the many shops and antique shops, wineries and brewery, diners and food courts, find unusual artwork including hand-blown glass, crafts, and jewelry.
The local churches can help get you in the holiday cheer with Christmas caroling and encourage you to join along or just relax in the church sanctuary under a giant Christmas tree. The village square can boost your holiday cheer with a horse drawn sleigh ride around the heart of town, a warm bon fire with Chestnuts roasting and marshmallows toasting, and St. Nick arriving to listen to you Christmas wishes.
The season enthusiast will appreciate the excitement of the Holiday Scavenger Hunt and a Christmas challenge and an evening awash with gathering treasurers from all the shops. You can submit your answers to our History Museum and enter for gifts from our local merchants.
You can easily relax by appreciating our band at Mount Pleasant Winery with a glass of wine; enjoy the evening at dinner with friends at Café Bella, Augusta Brewing Company, Ashley’s Rose or Balducci’s; receive a therapeutic massage at Halcyon or you can shop till you drop at a many of specialty shops and antique stores - a great northeast Missouri vacations.
Enjoy the holiday season in Augusta, Missouri on one of the first two Fridays of December with our Christmas Candlelight Walk. The Greater Augusta Chamber of Commerce sponsors this event each year and you will discover the Christmas spirit throughout the village. The festivities begin at five PM and continue until 10 PM with over one thousand luminaries lighting your way through town.
